So many of you know we've been working 25-38 hours a day writing, playing and recording music since the beginning of April (we were playing before that, but April is when the fun REALLY began).
Last week you might have seen that we were in the studio recording a batch of the songs we wrote during our Song A Day project, as well as some older unreleased songs.
It was a great experience for both of us. We're really excited to get some new recordings out soon.
Unfortunately (and for reasons we had no control over [we'll leave it at that {OMG people are nuts sometimes}]) these recordings will never be heard :-(
So now we're back at square one. We're broke and we have a lot of songs we want you to hear, with no way of getting them to you.
Yet.
We're thinking of going into a proper studio, run by a proper engineer, who charges (hopefully not too much) proper money and makes things sound good.
This is where you come in.
You may have heard about the "crowdfunding" thing sweeping the globe faster than bird flu.
Basically it works like this:
- We set a goal for a project (in this case, album production costs)
- You donate a certain amount to that project in exchange for a reward from us ($10 - free download of album, $25 download and signed CD, $100 we mow your lawn while singing Bob Dylan songs, $1000 we play a concert at your house and invite Superman etc.)
- We use that money to make beautiful music and increase our fan base so we all have new friends to hang out with at shows and parties.
It's our only option at this point, we think, and it seems like a good one.
So what we're trying to ask is this..... Would you be willing to participate?
We're a pretty new project and don't have a lot of reach yet, but we know we have some of the best fans and friends in the world.
